Horning's weathered the storm just fine!

Hi everyone, I've been getting some calls and emails wondering if the latest storm affected us. We had some high water in the lake, but other than that we're fine! We were prepared for the water based on lessons from the 1996 floods, with our main concern losing fish over the spill way. We have large nets in front of the spill way to prevent this, so even with high water we're set. The creek area is also fine, we've left most of that alone and natural throughout our history, so there's very little erosion, just normal stuff you'd see in a creek in the woods.

Out in the near-by town of Vernonia it's a different story. They were hit hard, harder than they've ever been and many lost everything. Tomorrow night, the 11th, between the hours of 6:30 PM and 9 PM the North Plains Chamber of Commerce (of which I'm President, simply my turn), is having a food, clothing, house hold and cleaning items drive during the North Plains Jingle (a Holiday festival). We're gathering at the Jessie Mays Center on Hillcrest. All donations will go to the people of Vernonia. For any cash donations there is also the Vernonia Flood Fund at any West Coast Bank.
Thanks!
